| In your view, what are the biggest challenges facing the wireless internet industry, and how do you believe WISPA should address them? |
To date the large telcos have "gobbled up" all the available frequencies because of an antiquated and out dated auction system at the FCC. Which has shut out the true entrepreneurs that have started WISP with systems based on UL frequencies with no protection. The FCC has started to change with the 3.65Ghz band and hopefully with white space using a "light licence" model. But we need to keep the pressure on to make sure they move in a way that is truly going to benefit WISPs as well as change the ways licensing is done so it benefits the many and not the few. |
